Lights off
A simple one to start- when you are no longer in a room, make sure the lights are turned off. Make sure any electronics such as TVs and computer monitors are off when you are not using them.
Car free travel
Once a week, consider taking a car free journey. Cycling and walking is also a great way to exercise and can help improve air quality in your local area.
Water
It may sound obvious but make sure you turn off any taps when you are not using them. A lot of water is wasted due to overrunning taps. When you are brushing your teeth, turn the tap off, it can save approximately 6 litres per minute!
Reuse shopping bags
When going out shopping, remember to take your reusable bag with you. It helps reduce our plastic use, reduce litter and saves you money.
Book swap
Set up a book swap with friends and family. This way you can share your favourite books, get an exciting new read and save some money! Or why not join your local library
Recycle
We all have recycling bins at home so let’s use them! Make sure you put the correct things in each bin, and if you are unsure check on your Council’s website.
