Tropical fruit and apple jacks

A fabulous, quick and easy recipe from our Love Food Hate Waste chef, Clover Hutson.


These tasty treats freeze well and last for 5 days after making. 


You can add any fruit you like to this, bananas and dates work really well.

Makes: 14 bars

Prep time: 10 minutes

Cooking time: 25 minutes



175g of marg melted (can use plant based)
220g of honey
300g oats
1 apple grated (skin on)
30g dried mango
30g dried apricot
1 tsp cinnamon
2 tbsp desiccated coconut



  1. Line a 10x7 inch tin with greaseproof paper and set aside.
  2. Pre heat the oven to 180c
  3. In a large mixing bowl add all the ingredients apart from 1 tbsp of coconut. Mix together well.
  4. Pour into the prepared tin and sprinkle over the coconut.
  5. Bake for 25 minutes.
  6. Remove and cool well before cutting.


Lasts in a tub for 5 days.
