Composting has a huge impact on our gardens and our planet:
• It provides free/cheap, high quality soil improver for use in your garden.
• Gives a great boost to your soil, helping your flowers and vegetables to thrive.
• Using composts on our soil helps improve its water retention and increases the amount of nutrients in the soil.
• It is great for exercise, mental health, wellbeing, and spending time in nature
• It can help reduce climate change! Home composting can save as much CO2 in a year as your kettle produces in a year or washing machine in three months.

Start composting at home
It’s easy to get started! All you need is somewhere to put your compost bin of choice and a 50/50 mix of ‘green’(like vegetable peelings and grass cuttings) and ‘brown materials (like cardboard and straw).
