Composting at home can be done using a hot bin. Over the past few years, we have given some away to some lucky residents across South Yorkshire. We asked the previous winners for some feedback with their experiences using the hot bins. Here is what they said

Feedback from our competition winners

‘Not found any issues so far and I have found it far better than cold composting. I would definitely recommend it to friends and family- in fact I have been trying to get my dad to get one’

‘I think it’s a great shape as if tucks nicely at the top of the garden and because it’s black it blends in with its surroundings and doesn’t stick out like a sore thumb.’

‘I’m an absolute composting novice but this HotBin composter makes it so easy. It came with a very informative instruction leaflet to help the very beginner. I’ve just started filling it with scraps from the kitchen and it’s definitely made me much more aware of how much I waste. ‘

‘I have not had any issues with it and have found it so easy to set up with all the extras you get with it.’

‘I cannot recommend enough and I’m looking forward to using our first batch in the spring.’

‘I have had a conical shaped composter for a few years now but the HotBin gives me more capacity for dealing with waste. No issues really apart from had to 'restart it's at some point due to extreme cold weather. It is very easy to move around the garden if you find its location needs changing.
