Believe it or not lots of clothes in the UK end up in our bins! And many Halloween costumes are only worn once before they are thrown away.

This year, as part of our ‘Love the clothes you own’ campaign’, we are running a competition for all under 18’s living in Barnsley, Doncaster and Rotherham to design a costume using the clothes they already own.

Love the Clothes you own!

This Halloween, we want to help reduce this and need your help. We want you to design a Halloween costume using the clothes you already own.

You can use the template provided if you wish- Download it here!

Be as creative as you want! We can’t wait to see your designs.

Submit your designs by the 2nd of November 2022 to be in with a chance of winning some awesome prizes!

Make sure a parent or guardian also fills in this entry form to make your entry valid. This can be found here

Some scary facts about clothes waste…

  • £140 million worth ends up in landfill every year in the UK
  • £30 billion worth of clothing that hasn’t been worn in the last year sits in UK wardrobes
  • To make one cotton t-shirt it takes 2,700 litres of water!
  • The clothes we wear impact our planet too. Making, transporting, selling and throwing away clothes contributes to climate change and causes pollution to enter the environment.
